Based in Vernon, California, just outside downtown LA, Gaviña Coffee Company is one of the largest family-owned coffee companies in America and the nation’s largest privately held minority roaster. The family’s unmatched coffee experience, as coffee growers and roasters, dates back over 150 years to the family’s humble beginnings in the rich coffee-bearing soil of Cuba. It was there that patriarch Francisco Gaviña, known as Don Francisco (“Don” is a Spanish-language honorific used to show respect), was born and learned the art of coffee cultivation from his father. After immigrating to the United States with his wife and children, he further cemented the family’s coffee legacy in the heart of Los Angeles, establishing Gaviña Coffee Company in 1967 and later launched their now flagship brand, Don Francisco’s Coffee, in 1984.

More than 50 years later, Don Francisco’s Coffee is one of the leading national coffee brands and top 5 in California. Don Francisco’s product line includes bags, pods, cans, and espresso capsules, in a variety of roast profiles, blends, single origins, and flavors made for a variety of brewing methods.

The cornerstone of all Don Francisco’s Coffees is the unmatched high standard of quality and consistency passed down over four generations, making it one of the highest quality, family-crafted coffees in the market today. Don Francisco’s Coffee is made with 100% premium Arabica coffee sourced from the world’s finest growing regions.

Don Francisco’s Coffee is proudly roasted in California at the company’s 240,000 sq. ft., state-of-the art, zero-waste-to-landfill roasting plant. There they produce more than 40 million pounds of coffee each year from the finest selection of 100% premium Arabica beans, which include Rainforest Alliance, Fair Trade USA and USDA certified Organic certified varieties. The company is also one of the only coffee companies roasting and packing its own Nespresso®-compatible capsules in the U.S.
